Immigration Response Team Update: Even after government shutdown, Congress Fails to Protect Dreamers

It was a tumultuous week in Washington D.C. with no bill to protect Dreamers. 

After the government shutdown last weekend, it was reported that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) offered the president $25 million for a border wall in exchange for a bill to codify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and Democratic votes to fund the government. Yesterday Politico reported Schumer pulled the offer since those negotiations fell apart.

This half-hour film explores what it is like to be a Dreamer, a young adult brought to the United States as a child.
