Student Legal Service is hosting a training and discussion on the proposed University of Minnesota draft Gender Expression & Identity Policy that is currently in a 30 day public comment period on Tuesday, October 29 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Weisman Art Museum. The purpose of this forum to share the background of the policy and discuss implementation. There will be an opportunity for the community to share ideas and strategies. Panelists include Tina Marisam (EOAA), Saby Labor (GSC), and Jay Wilson (Trans Advisory & Action Team).
The Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life at UMN-TC is looking for passionate professionals to serve as inaugural facilitators in anticipation of the implementation of the draft Gender Equity and Access Policy in Fall 2019. This draft policy incorporates four main components: name, gender identity, and pronouns; programs, activities, and facilities; data collection; and data privacy. This annual lecture honors Andrea Jenkins and works to center the voices of queer and trans people of color.
