Many efforts to improve campus climate have been underway over the last several years at the campuswide level and within colleges and units. This fall, a concerted effort was made to gather more information about work happening at the local level across the Twin Cities campus. The results include:
- A Campus Climate Inventory, resulting in detailed information from 28 colleges, departments, and units.
- A list of diversity and inclusion committees and activities, gathered from a scan of college and unit websites. To date, diversity committees from 13 colleges and 10 administrative departments and units have been identified.
- A list of practices to improve campus climate at the local level. The list was compiled from this research and a review of college and unit information from the Initiatives and Projects page of the Campus Climate website. These practices are categorized under hiring, retention, leadership, office culture, onboarding, evaluation and accountability, development, training, and connections and informal opportunities to learn.
