Photography Exhibition Opening | Somali-American Stories

Apr. 20, 4:30-6:30, Humphrey Forum, Humphrey School. - Photography Exhibition Opening | Somali-American Stories. The Humphrey School will host the photography exhibitions “Jaded Youth” by Khadija Charif and “Behind Both Fences” by Muna Malik, two emerging voices from the Somali-American community in Minnesota. Their work explores the experiences of local immigrant and first-generation youth as they negotiate identities between their families’ origins and their homes in the Twin Cities. 

Remarks by Eric Schwartz, Dean, Humphrey School; Leslie Thomas, executive director, Art Works; Khadija Charif and Muna Malik, featured photographers; and Abdi Warsame, Sixth Ward council member, City of Minneapolis.
