U students rally in support of Justice for Jamar Clark protests

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Between 150 and 200 U students gathered on Northrop Plaza during the noon hour at a rally to show support for the protests led by Black Lives Matter Minneapolis following the shooting death of Jamar Clark by Minneapolis police last Sunday and the shooting of five activists by three men near the protest site on Monday night. Many students planned to proceed to North Minneapolis to join a large march set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Dance students responded at the rally by performing an improvisation that expressed their individual and collective feelings. See the Facebook event and Minnesota Daily story for more details.
