UMN cautions against rising anti-Muslim rhetoric

When Bessma Dabaan headed off to the University of Minnesota this year, her mother warned her to wear a hood when she went out at night. That way, she said, her hijab would be harder to see. Later, in one of her classes, the Muslim 18-year-old said, a fellow freshman insisted on repeatedly showing her photos of armed U.S. soldiers.
