Immigration Response Team Update: Even after government shutdown, Congress Fails to Protect Dreamers
It was a tumultuous week in Washington D.C. with no bill to protect Dreamers.
After the government shutdown last weekend, it was reported that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) offered the president $25 million for a border wall in exchange for a bill to codify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and Democratic votes to fund the government. Yesterday Politico reported Schumer pulled the offer since those negotiations fell apart.

Student hunger program follows up on successful semester
After a successful first semester, a University of Minnesota hunger relief program is hoping to carry its momentum into the spring.
Swipe Out Hunger, a national nonprofit that allows University students to donate up to 10 unused dining hall meal swipes to food-insecure students, concluded a semester of testing and planning.
Now, plans are being put into place for a second donation drive during spring semester.
