Campus climate micro-grant project expands in its third year
On December 20, 2017 the Campus Climate Engagement Team (CCET) awarded nearly $24,000 to 31 projects. These awards aim to improve the overall campus climate by supporting new and existing activities at a local or grassroots level. Now in its third year, the project received 67 applications, more than double the number received last year.
U of M rejects 'war on Christmas' charge
If you drive past the University of Minnesota's main entrance you'd never guess that the state's flagship institution of higher learning is supposed to be at war with Christmas.
The pillars are wrapped in red ribbons, and the iron fences are dressed in wreaths and pinecones and other holiday decorations.

Helping Women and Girls of Color Thrive
There are many gaps in the world of research. One of the most longstanding is the dearth of studies focused on women and girls of color. And that’s a problem, says Rebecca Ropers-Huilman, because “If we are going to have comprehensive, accurate, nuanced knowledge in our society, we need to make sure we have a diversity of people doing the exploring and investigating. In every subject area, if there are no women of color, we need to change that.”
