First-gen students and faculty connect over waffles and advice

Over plates stacked with warm waffles, a panel of University of Minnesota faculty and staff members recalled their experiences as first-generation college students Tuesday evening.

A group of around 20 students attended the First-Generation Panel and Waffle Bar in Bruininks Hall, an event encouraging discussion and advice-sharing between faculty, staff and students with similar backgrounds.

The event, organized by Multicultural and First Generation College Students, a program within the College of Liberal Arts, featured four panelists.


Aurora Center Self-Care & Healing Workshop

On Monday, April 30, The Aurora Center is collaborating with Terra Firma to offer trauma-informed movement exercises in this self-care and healing workshop. 

These events close out Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) to allow a safe and healing space for sexual violence survivors and allies to take care of themselves during April, which can be a very triggering month.

Invitation to Forums on Campus Child Care

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

I invite you to attend an upcoming forum about child care options for the Twin Cities campus community. Two forums are planned in the next two weeks: Thursday, April 26, 3-4 pm, 335 Borlaug Hall (St. Paul campus); and Thursday, May 3, 11 am-12 noon, Weisman Art Museum/William G. Shepherd Room (Minneapolis campus).
