International Student and Scholar Services is pleased to announce the ISSS Intercultural Workshop Series for Spring 2018. The series includes sessions focused on intercultural competency and skills development as well as "Culture In-Depth" sessions discussing the unique practices, customs, and values of some of the largest international student populations on our campus.
On Dec. 12, President Kaler joined Presidents and Chancellors from across the Big 10 in a letter to Congressional leaders urging them to pass a long-term legislative solution for Dreamers:

On behalf of the Big Ten universities, we urge you to take action on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy and pass a long-term legislative solution as soon as possible to protect Dreamers, outstanding young people brought to our country as children.
Professors are rallying to help University of Minnesota students whose education may be threatened by deportation or the federally-proposed travel ban.
A letter drafted by the Minnesota Student Association this month outlines support for remote education, which would let students who benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and others affected by a travel ban complete their degrees.
